WWE Officials Aware Of How Lackluster SmackDown LIVE Currently Is

On this week’s episode of “Backstage in WWE with Brad Shepard and Jon Fisher” the topic of SmackDown LIVE’s low attendance numbers and lackluster product, Bodyslam.net‘s own Brad Shepard indicated that a source within WWE has informed him that they are well aware that the product is not any good.

“A source in WWE told me that basically everyone that works there knows it’s not good.”

Shepard went on to explain how the arena was half empty this week, and that you could visibly see empty seats even on the hard camera view of the crowd. He also brought up how WWE touts “record breaking” numbers, but pointed out that the company is obviously still failing to sell tickets to the events.

“Hey, record profits though or record revenue, whatever it is. But you can’t get f**king tickets sold to these shows? Everyone keeps saying how great wrestling is doing and I just don’t agree.”

Struggling ticket sales has been an issue as of late for WWE, and played a large factor in the company’s decision to drop brand exclusive pay-per-view’s, and have all ppv’s be dual-branded going forward following this year’s WrestleMania.
