The Rock May Not Be Available For WrestleMania 34 Due To Production Of Next Movie

Earlier in the week it was reported that WWE is hoping to work out a deal to book The Rock alongside Ronda Rousey in a match at WrestleMania 34 against Triple H and Stephanie McMahon.

Our friends at ringsidenews.com reported today that this may not be an easy task for WWE to pull off. Apparently there are insurance concerns associated with The Rock working any wrestling matches that could a big hurdle in the way of WWE’s plan for WrestleMania.

Back at WrestleMania 29, The Rock suffered an injury in his match, ever since then insurers have been about any future wrestling matches involving The Rock taking place before production begins of an upcoming film. The Rock’s injury at WrestleMania 29 reportedly resulted in delays in start of production for the film Hercules.

The Rock’s next movie slated for production is titled Jungle Cruise, and is scheduled to start production in May. So, with WrestleMania 34 taking place about a month prior to the start of filming for Jungle Cruise, it is likely that insurers would be skittish resulting in the cost of insurance to drastically increase. This in turn would drive the production cost for the film up tremendously, and would put a potential risk of production delays that could cost hundreds of thousands of dollars.

A lot of details would have to be worked out before The Rock would be available for a match at WrestleMania 34 in New Orleans, and we will keep you updated if any more information becomes available about his potential appearance.
