Former Ring Announcer Confirms Rumors Of Sexual Abuse To Ring Crew In WWF

On Episode 13 of “The Matt Riviera Show” which is hosted by 3x NWA World Tag Team Champion & Reality TV star, “The LVR Boy” Matt Riviera spoke to legendary ring announcer Gary Michael Cappetta.

Cappetta is known for his time as the ring announcer for WWF (74-85), the AWA, and WCW until being let go from the company in 1995. Cappetta was known as “The World’s Most Dangerous Announcer” during his time as a ring announcer, and even worked backstage with Ring of Honor.

During the interview they touch on the infamous WWF/WWE ring boy pedophilia scandal, and his knowledge of events that occurred while he worked for the WWE from 1974-1985.

On the WWF(E) Ring Boy Pedophile Scandal:

“I’m very well aware of it. I knew of it, of you know, some of the goings on when I was there. Yeah, there would be some bright eyed, young, like high school age kid who might want to get into wrestling someday and be fed information that, “Oh, why don’t you join the ring crew, hang out with us, and yeah that happened.” ”

The story broke back in 1992, and here is a full episode of the Donahue show discussing the scandal involving the WWF, former wrestlers and underage boys that were part of the ring crew, including an interview with Vince McMahon, Superstar Billy Graham, Bruno Sammartino, and even Dave Meltzer.

Although he was never convicted for it, numerous former Wrestlers accused Pat Patterson of abusing underage boys who were part of the ring crew. Including a heated exchange with Superstar Billy Graham and Vince McMahon about the allegations.
