Dave Meltzer reported on today’s installment of Wrestling Observer Radio that WWE plans to have a Three-Way Match for the Universal Title Match at the Royal Rumble, following last night’s double count out between Kane and Braun Strowman. Meltzer noted that this was Vince’s call, and that unless plans change at the last minute that it will be a three-way match at the ppv for the universal title.
Meltzer went on to speculate that the reason Kane would be added to the match would be to protect Strowman and Lesnar. He feels that WWE doesn’t want Lesnar or Strowman taking a pin before Wrestlemania. It would make sense to put Kane in the match to take the pinfall at the Royal Rumble if the plan is to keep the other two from being pinned over the next few months.
